Welcome to Mini Melodies!
We look forward to seeing your family in class each week! We've got so many wonderful songs and fun activities to share with you!
Health and Safety
Masks: Masks are currently optional for both indoor and outdoor classes. We reserve the right to change mask requirements to align with current guidelines.
Student Illness: Please do not come to class with any symptoms of illness. We have a very generous make up policy so you can rest easy knowing you will get in all of your classes.
Instruments: We are providing instruments for class. If you are not yet ready to use ours, please feel free to bring your own. You can continue to make your own out of household items or you can purchase and instrument bag from us here. We disinfect our mouthed items after each class and all instruments once a week using soap and water and/or a thyme-extract cleaner that kills viruses, bacteria and fungi. During class, please put all mouthed instruments in the instrument spa.
Classroom Policies
Phone Free Classroom: You are welcome to take one or two photos during class but we aim to be as present as possible. Please no videos longer than a few seconds because of our copyrighted material. We plan to create the best possible learning environment for your child and we appreciate your help in achieving this goal. We do allow for unlimited photo taking during our last week of each semester.
Shoe Free Classroom: please remove shoes to help us keep the floor as clean as possible for our little movers and groovers.
Cleanliness: Because of janitorial schedules, locations have asked us to please bag dirty diapers before disposal.
Food and Drink: Please no food or drink in the classroom, except water. Of course bottles and breastfeeding are welcome at any time. We want to keep our focus on music making as much as possible, as well as keeping our locations as clean as possible. If your child must snack during class, please take them outside.
Your Child: We expect kids to be kids, however they participate is just fine! We only ask you to intervene and redirect if it is something dangerous like running, throwing or hitting.
Participation: Adult participation is key! Your kids and watching and learning from you, plus it just makes it more fun!
Visitors: Adult caregivers are welcome at any time. Please read and explain these guidelines to them before they come. We request that visitors participate rather than watch. Siblings and friends may be asked to donate to Reprise Foundation for the Arts scholarship fund ($10 suggested). Click here for link. Please try to let us know in advance, whenever possible, of guest attendance.
Scheduling
Make Up Classes: Families who’ve had to miss a class will be given the opportunity to attend a make-up class via the Family Portal. Instructions can be found here and will also be e-mailed out. These make-up classes have limited availability and are not guaranteed. No refunds or credits will be given for missed classes.
Inclement Weather (outdoor classes): In the rare case of rain or excessive heat, outdoor classes will take place on zoom instead. An email will go out no less than an hour before class if this is the case.
Outside the Classroom
Listening to your music at home: Download the free Music Together® App and listen from anywhere. The more you listen to music outside of class, the better!
Making music part of your home routine: Don't be afraid to do the activities we do in class, at home! Incorporating music into your routine is key.
Misc.
Refunds: Mini Melodies does not offer refunds under any circumstances. Credit for future semesters can be offered at the discretion of the director in the case of emergencies.
Refer a friend discount: Word of mouth is our best advertising. If a friend registers and puts your name in the "How did you hear about us" field, you will receive a $15 credit toward your next semester. If you love what you experience, please tell your friends!
COVID-19 ASSUMPTION OF THE RISKS AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY
As consideration for Mini Melodies permitting me to take Music Together classes, I agree to the following:
ASSUMPTION OF THE RISKS: I understand that naturally occurring disease processes (including, but not limited to, the novel coronavirus or COVID-19), may exist in the community, including at Mini Melodies, and present an inherent risk that cannot be eliminated. I acknowledge that, although Mini Melodies is taking reasonable measures to avoid contact, transmittal, and exposure of disease processes like COVID-19 between people in our classes (including Music Together Teachers, and third-parties), it is ultimately my responsibility to ensure that I and my child take appropriate actions to safe-guard ourselves, including all adults wearing masks during class. All family members must stay within their personal blanket/area and ensure that personal instruments/props are not shared between families. I understand and agree that as a registered member of Mini Melodies, I am accepting and voluntarily assuming the risk that I or my child may be exposed and become ill as a result of COVID-19 and other diseases.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY: I, on behalf of myself and my children hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and covenant not to sue Mini Melodies and its owners, managers, contractors, members, employees, agents, and volunteers, for any claims that may arise out of or relate in any way to my or my child’s exposure to any communicable disease, including but not limited to the novel coronavirus or COVID-19. I assume the inherent risk of being in person/outdoors with my children including but not limited to ticks, bees, poison ivy, etc. The claims hereby released include, but are not limited to, claims of negligence against any of the Released Parties.
I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS WAIVER AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS. BY ENROLLING IN CLASSES AT Mini Melodies, I UNDERSTAND I HAVE GIVEN UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS AND THAT THIS IS A BINDING LEGAL DOCUMENT.
